The Second Siege
- 490 BC The Battle of Marathon makes Miltiades.
- 489 BC The Siege of Paros breaks him. Seventy ships. A demand for a hundred talents.Paros raised its walls and paid nothing.Twenty-six days later, Miltiades sailed home wounded and empty-handed.
- 2027 More than 2,500 years later, the Siege returns.
We come with a different purpose. Not to take from the island. To give something back.

Good to know.
Do I have to take part in regeneration?
Yes. Every participant contributes at least one full day between Monday 3 and Friday 7 May – or makes a regeneration contribution instead. The money pays for the training of local Guardians – people from Paros who learn to understand, prepare and guide the work – and for the tools the work needs, whenever we have to buy them.
If you join a work day, you choose when. Friday is the main collective day. But you don't have to leave your work until the day before the race.
The work varies. Not all of it is physically demanding. We'll make sure you can contribute in a way that makes sense for you – and still have something left for Saturday.
Friends, family and other supporters are welcome to join too.
Do I have to take part in the Rave?
No. Regeneration is part of the Siege; the Rave is an invitation.
It is separately ticketed, and taking part is entirely optional.
That said, we very much hope you'll join us when the sun goes down. The Rave is how we want to close the day together – participants, supporters, volunteers, islanders and friends.
How much will it cost?
We're still finalising the 2027 entry price and exactly what's included.
We'll publish the full price before first-access registration opens, so you'll know what you're signing up for before you make any commitment.
No surprises before you commit.
When can I secure my place?
The 2027 Siege is capped at 250 race entries.
Early access runs from 16 to 29 November 2026. General sale opens on 30 November.
Join the list now and you’ll get first access when entries open.
