English Follow the Siege

I · RegenerateMon 3 – Fri 7 May

First, we give.

Before we race across Paros, we give something back to the island that hosts us.

From Monday 3 to Friday 7 May, regeneration work will take place across the island. Every participant contributes at least one full day. Friday is our main collective day.

Friends, family and other supporters are welcome to take part too.

It's not an optional side activity. It's how the Siege begins.

01 The work

Come as a guest.

Paros is more than the backdrop to the race.

It is a living island – shaped by its sea, landscapes, wildlife, history and the people who call it home.

Together with local organisations and people who know the island, participants and supporters will take part in regeneration work where it can make a genuine difference.

The exact activities will depend on what Paros needs most.

02 The journey

And account for the journey.

Getting to Paros has an impact too.

Every participant makes a travel contribution, based on the estimated emissions of their journey to the island.

All of it goes to protecting the Posidonia meadows around Paros and, where appropriate, restoring them.

We'll share how it works in practice soon.

  1. Your journey to Paros
  2. Its estimated emissions
  3. Your travel contribution
  4. Posidonia meadows around Paros

Posidonia oceanica forms underwater meadows that store carbon, support marine life and help protect Mediterranean coastlines. Learn more from the Seagrass Alliance.

We're developing this approach with the Cyclades Preservation Fund, connecting the Siege to conservation work already rooted in the Cyclades.

February 2027

The Siege starts before May.

In February 2027, locals, future participants and partners will come together on Paros to lay the foundations for the regeneration work in May: learning, testing and preparing it together.

The aim isn’t one symbolic week of work. It’s to build knowledge and capacity that stay on Paros.

More soon.
